Bella Salon and Massage- Branding Guide

Bella Salon and Massage lacked consistency in their social media branding, physical branding, and overall aesthetic – an aspect they desperately wanted to address. They sought a solution to ensure that their brand remained consistent across all platforms and spaces. Additionally, they faced the challenge of accommodating different preferences for business card sizes. To tackle these issues, I embarked on logo redesign using Adobe Illustrator, aiming to create a cohesive representation rather than a squished version of the full logo. Furthermore, I adjusted the business cards to meet the standard sizes of 3.5”x2” and 2”x2”, ensuring uniformity in their professional appearance.

Bella Salon and Massage- Social Media Campaign

In addition to revamping their branding, I was tasked with doing a complete overhaul of their social media, focusing on owned and paid media. After our initial social media assessment, we determined my focus would be on Instagram. They were already very active on Facebook, but only with current clients. The purpose of our Instagram campaign would be to reach new clientele, with the goal of increasing both followers and new appointments.

Social Media Calendar

To start our plan, we worked on a comprehensive Instagram schedule. We wanted to focus on posting 3-4 times per week, featuring deals, trendy work, and information. In our calendar, we noted who would be posting what days, where the content could be found, and the type of post it would be. In addition to this, we made sure to differentiate which posts would be a paid ad, and which would just be a normal in feed post. Other features our social media calendar had was a list of hashtags that are trending and seen a lot on the discover page, as well as accounts to repost on our story, such as @positivedelight.

To begin our owned campaign, we wanted to start with a reintroduction of the stylists. The goal of this post was to showcase the women who make this business run, highlight their talents, and make sure to mention trending techniques and services to reach new clients looking for a change in their look. To maximize who we will be exposed to, we collaborated with a local photographer. By doing this, ElCrow can repost on his page, sharing our page with his followers.

Meet Your Stylists

In order to stay relevant, but not clutter our feed, started utilizing Instagram stories and highlights. For example, each month, we would post our mood board with images found online featuring hair and beauty trends, adding each one to our mood boards highlights. Also, each stylist was given the password, and takes turns answering customer questions, featuring the best ones or most frequent ones, showing they are knowledgable and caring.

When deciding which posts to promote, we wanted to focus on ones that encourage the user to take action. The first post promotes self care and shows the audience that Bella is the place to go. The second post gives more incentive, offering a discount on the products used in the salon and during many appointments.
